Victoria is now home to floating hot tubs - yes, you read that right. Located in the Gorge Waterway and Upper Harbour, several Hot Tub Boats or floating hot tubs have been set up in the city.
Victoria’s Hot Tub Boats claim to be the first of their kind in Canada, and provide a new experience on the water. Relax in the hot tub with your friends and family while floating in the Upper Harbour and Gorge Waterway.
These private hot tub boats are available for rental starting at $65 per adult and $45 per child, and each boat has the capacity to fit 6 people. No boating license is required and participants are invited to bring whatever they like aboard (snacks, music, etc…) except alcohol, which is prohibited.
Hot Tub Boats are suitable for children ages 12 and up. They are available in two hour increments, with bookings currently available all summer and fall.
All boats are fully cleaned and disinfected between rentals and feature fresh hot water for every booking. In addition to two hours of boat access, each booking comes with two bottles of water per person, a Bluetooth speaker, and dry bags to keep your belongings safe.
Bookings can be made online or over the phone and require 3 hours’ notice. You’ll set sail from Hot Tub Boat Canada’s floating dock and shack, which is located at the bottom of Swift Street near the base of Chinatown. The shack on the dock contains a change room, but there is no washroom on-site. However, Hot Tub Boat has partnered with nearby Canoe Brewpub and customers are free to use their washrooms between the hours of 12:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
While these hot tub boats are currently unique to Victoria, the company behind them has plans to expand to nearby Vancouver and Kelowna soon.
If you’ll be in Victoria over the summer, then be sure to make a reservation for one of the coolest attractions in the city. And if you need a place to stay during your visit, we’d love to host you at the Days Inn Victoria Uptown.
