Meet Oreo, Resident Feline Purr-fessional at Days Inn Victoria Uptown

You’ll likely see him when you first walk into the lobby at Days Inn Victoria Uptown. Distinct black and white markings. Cute button nose. Big bunny rabbit ears. A yin-yang pendant dangling from his collar. 

He’s the one washing his paws on the countertop or greeting you at the door with a friendly mew. If he’s not there, he’s probably stretched out in the garden, basking in the sunshine (he loves being outside, especially for naps). 

Oreo, our resident cat, is a purr-manent fixture here at our Victoria hotel—and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 

Oreo just turned four, on April 29. That’s the day he was adopted back in 2016. A couple of years later, Oreo travelled from Cape Town, South Africa to Victoria, BC with his humans, Liza and Deville. We weren’t sure how he’d adapt, but, being the friendly guy he is, Oreo settled into his new home very quickly. He loves people and getting to know the hotel guests, and spends most of his day keeping close to his favourites and lounging. 

He’s been feeling a little blue lately, after the sudden loss of his brother, Alistair, in March. Alistair took his reception duties very seriously and enjoyed going off exploring in the afternoons. Alistair and Oreo were affectionally known as the “Days Inn Paw Patrol,” and they would show up together promptly every morning for their shifts, taking turns on chair warming duties and guarding the foyer. Cuddles and treats are doing a good job in cheering Oreo up, though: he particularly likes Cats in the Kitchen pouches by Weruva.
